STANZA at Fairy Lake

What Should STANZA Include? The Amenities That Make Everyday Life Better

It's easy to make a list of amenities.

STANZA at Fairy Lake

A fitness centre.

A lounge.

A rooftop terrace.

Wellness spaces.

Dining.

Trails.

Programming.

Put enough features on a page and almost any new community can sound impressive.

But there is a more important question:

Which of those things would you actually use?

At STANZA at Fairy Lake, we're approaching the question of amenities differently.

Before finalizing every space, service and experience, we want to understand what people genuinely value.

Not what looks good in a brochure.

What makes everyday life better.

An Amenity Only Has Value If It Adds Value to Your Life

There is a difference between an amenity that helps sell a development and one that helps create a community.

The first photographs well.

The second gets used.

That's an important distinction for STANZA.

We're not interested in creating a long checklist simply so we can say the community has more amenities.

We want to understand which spaces and experiences could meaningfully contribute to how people live.

Would you rather have a large formal lounge or several smaller places where people naturally meet?

Would you use organized fitness classes or prefer flexible spaces where you can exercise on your own schedule?

Would a café or bistro become part of your weekly routine?

Would you use wellness resources if they were conveniently available within the community?

Would outdoor trails matter more to you than another indoor amenity?

Those choices help shape a very different kind of place.

LIVE WELL: What Makes Everyday Life Better?

Living well begins at home.

For STANZA Residences, we're exploring privately owned homes designed around independent living, including single level layouts and elevator access.

But the experience outside the residence matters too.

What would make everyday life easier or more enjoyable?

Perhaps it's comfortable places for family and friends to gather.

Maybe it's convenient access to food and coffee.

Outdoor spaces.

Gardens.

Places to work or read.

Spaces that make it easy to enjoy the community without requiring a scheduled activity.

Sometimes the most valuable amenity isn't the biggest one.

It's the one you find yourself using every day.

So what would you prioritize?

What would genuinely improve your everyday life?

And what could you live without?

STAY WELL: What Would You Actually Use?

Wellness is an important part of the STANZA vision.

But “wellness” can mean very different things to different people.

For one person, it might mean physiotherapy or rehabilitation.

For someone else, preventative health resources.

Another person might value mobility, nutrition, recovery or convenient access to wellness professionals.

We're exploring possibilities.

We haven't finalized all of them.

That's intentional.

We want the wellness offering to reflect what residents actually value rather than deciding in advance what everyone should need.

Wellness should support your life, not define it.

So we're asking:

Which wellness resources would you actually use?

Which would matter enough to influence where you choose to live?

And which wouldn't provide meaningful value to you?

MOVE WELL: Does the Best Fitness Amenity Need Four Walls?

When people hear “fitness amenity,” they often picture a gym.

That may be part of the answer.

But in Muskoka, movement can look very different.

A morning walk.

A trail through the trees.

Paddling.

Gardening.

Cycling.

Golf.

Stretching outside.

A fitness class with neighbours.

Or simply having a community designed to make movement easier.

At Fairy Lake, nature already provides something that would be difficult to recreate inside a building.

So one of the questions we're exploring is how much of the active living experience should happen inside, and how much should connect people to the environment around them.

Would you prioritize a traditional fitness space?

Walking and nature trails?

Group activities?

Outdoor recreation?

Or some combination of them?

CONNECT WELL: The Spaces Between the Amenities

Some of the most important moments in a community aren't scheduled.

They're spontaneous.

Running into someone over coffee.

Having dinner together.

Meeting a neighbour while walking.

Inviting friends over.

Joining an activity because someone mentioned it that morning.

That's why we're thinking about connection as more than an events calendar.

We're exploring how spaces themselves could make it easier for people to interact naturally.

That could mean dining.

Coffee.

Cooking.

Art.

Music.

Learning.

Outdoor gathering areas.

Rooftop spaces.

Community events.

Or simply comfortable places where people want to spend time.

The objective isn't to force participation.

It's to make connection available when you want it.

What kinds of spaces would make that happen naturally for you?

What Would Make a STANZA Membership Worthwhile?

STANZA is also exploring a membership model that could connect residents to shared spaces, experiences, wellness resources and community programming.

But membership only works if people see genuine value in it.

So we're asking the same question here:

What would make membership worthwhile to you?

Would you value wellness resources?

Fitness?

Social programming?

Dining experiences?

Outdoor activities?

Learning?

Events?

Convenience?

A combination of these?

And just as importantly:

What wouldn't you want to pay for?

Understanding both sides of that question is important.

The objective isn't to create the longest possible list of inclusions.

It's to understand what people would genuinely value enough to make part of their everyday lives.

The Best Amenity Is the One You Use.

There's a temptation in real estate to focus on the spectacular.

The biggest room.

The longest amenity list.

The feature that looks best in a rendering.

But everyday life is usually shaped by smaller things.

Where you have your morning coffee.

Where you walk.

Where you exercise.

Where you meet someone for dinner.

Where you spend an afternoon with family.

Where you go when you want company.

Where you go when you don't.

Those are the experiences we're interested in understanding.

Because the best amenity isn't necessarily the most impressive one.

It's the one that becomes part of your life.

We're Listening Before We Finalize It

STANZA is currently in a discovery stage.

The residences, shared spaces, membership and experiences are being shaped, and we have an opportunity to listen before every decision is made.

That's why your input matters.

We want to know:

What would you use every day?

What would you use every week?

What would you rarely use?

What would you never want to pay for?

What would genuinely make your life better?

Those answers can help us understand what STANZA should become.

Don't Just Register for STANZA. Help Shape It.

STANZA Residences are being envisioned as the next residential chapter at Fairy Lake.

Before everything is finalized, we want to hear from the people who may one day call it home.

Tell us which spaces, experiences and services would genuinely improve your everyday life.

Tell us what matters.

Tell us what doesn't.

And help us shape a community around the way people actually want to live.
